Hotpoint & Indesit Dishwasher Safety Recall
330,000 Hotpoint & Indesit dishwashers recalled
A further 330,000 Hotpoint and Indesit dishwashers have now been officially recalled. Various models sold between 2005 and 2010 are affected and Hotpoint suggest that 18 ‘incidents’ have been reported.
A component fitted to a limited number of appliances may cause overheating or, in a minority of cases, constitute a fire hazard.
An Oxfordshire family have had their kitchen completely destroyed following one of these incidents and the remainder of their home is uninhabitable due to soot damage. Nobody at the home was physically injured mainly due to correctly fitted smoke alarms having been fitted.
